Yesterday I spent the day studying bible scriptures and drinking coffee. It was a long week and I was pretty worn out so I watched the live church service on our local network. I know that is a terrible excuse for not actually going to a service at my church.
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.”
Isaiah 53:5 NIV
“He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.””
Mark 5:34 NIV
“Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.””
John 5:8 NIV
I had forgotten John 5 is Titled : Healing at the Pool. When you really listen, you realize that God speaks to you in so many ways. You just have to truly listen and follow his word. He heals and provides in His time, not yours.
You must change what you are doing in order to change the way you feel and think. Start small if that’s what you need. You don’t have to start running marathons. But even a short walk down your driveway will turn your mind around! John 5:9 states “At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.” Before heading to the pool for some much needed R&R I looked on Amazon for new books! I order a few and will keep you updated on what I think about them.
- Lunchmeat and Life Lessons: Sharing a Butcher’s Wisdom by Mary B. Lucas
- The Language of Letting Go: Daily Meditations for Codependents by Melody Beattie
- 52 Small Changes One year to a happier healthier you by Brett Blumenthal
- Joy of Mindfulness by Neil Francis
I have already read Lunchmeat and Life Lessons. This book is an amazing quick read that teaches you very simply how to live a better life and manage people. I think everyone should read this book. I had a boss who had everyone in our office read it. I bought it for a refresher and to have on hand when I need it! If you have read these books leave a comment of what you think! It would be great to start a discussion about them or share others you love!!!! I hope you all have a great week! KatieIf I just help one person I have done my job!#healing #savinggrace
