It took three weeks to name her. I started with “Emma” and then tried out “Ember” for awhile. It just didn’t work for me. I searched the internet for names I liked. I read some scriptures. I thought and thought. I just could not come up with anything that seemed to fit her spirit. Then one night during a pretty bad night dealing with my insomnia it came to me. I found her for a reason and she was my saving grace. Well, it was there the whole time. Wow! Her name needs to be Grace! Later that morning, the best part of this new journey came to me. I had fallen asleep for about 10 whole minutes and I heard it so loud and clear. “You need to create a support group to help other sexual assault victims, name it saving grace.” I could barely sleep the rest of the night. I was overcome with joy! God has a funny way of listening to what you need and then giving you the answers. You truly have to be in touch with Him. But once you really are, you just continually become more and more blessed. You get excited thinking “What is going to happen today!?” Do not lose faith. Keep praying. Learn how to pray. Pray some more. It is at your darkest moments where you truly find Jesus. I have no explanation for that but He does!
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—”
Ephesians 2:8 NIV
